COMPANION ANIMAL (GRADUATE) VETERINARY POSITION

ROTORUA ANIMAL HOSPITAL

Vetora Bay of Plenty is excited to provide a permanent full-time position for a Companion Animal Veterinarian to join our fantastic 15-vet team. The Vetora Bay of Plenty team operate out of four clinics in the Central North Island. This position is based at our purpose built Animal Hospital in Rotorua.

With such an experienced team we can offer a tailored induction program with a mentor plus full support during the transition into a new clinical practice.

The Rotorua companion animal hospital team work in a magnificent facility including four consult rooms, two surgical rooms, spacious prep room plus laboratory and diagnostic room. The Animal Hospital is fitted with the latest equipment including endoscopy, digital radiography, full dental suite, doppler, ultrasound, orthopaedic equipment and complete IDEXX in house laboratory.

Management Accountant - Part time

Rotorua or Taupo Based

(24 hours per week)

Vetora Bay of Plenty has been providing vet services for over 75 years; we are a leading multi-clinic veterinary service business providing expert advice support to our farmer members, as well as to our pet owner clients.

This is an exciting and dynamic role that has come about due to Company growth; reporting directly to the CEO who reports to our Board of Directors.

We are looking for an Accountant with at least at least five years commercial working experience to provide exceptional accounting and reporting support to CEO and the Board of Directors across multiple business units.

Hours of work are negotiable but need to fit in with our key financial activity and deadlines.  We are also open to the right candidate being located in Rotorua or Taupo, however travel between sites is required to meet business needs.

Key responsibilities include:

Overseeing the completion of the integration of the Veterinary IT system with Xero

Bringing payroll processing in-house (currently outsourced)

Producing monthly financial reports and reconciliations

Budgeting and forecasting

Cost analysis and reduction

Management reporting

Variance analysis

Management of debtors, stock and cashflow

Oversight of the IT function

A relevant tertiary qualification, however, we are open to an unqualified person who has significant relevant experience

Preferably CA qualified however, as above we are open to someone who is not CA qualified but has significant relevant experience

Preferably experience with Xero

Strong excel skills

Payroll management experience is desirable

Strong communication skills are essential

Ability to influence at a senior level
